mvnForum Index Page
This is the first page that you will see when you visit mvnForum.
|
|
Registration Page
You should register for an account. By registering, you have many benefits such as post new thread, reply to
a post, customize your profile and many other features.
Note that when registering, you can choose the displayed language and your timezone. Currently mvnForum has been
localized to 16 languages.

|
List Online Users
With mvnForum, you can view all online users and what they are doing. In RC2 release Admin can view the IP and UserAgent
of online users.
|
|
View Thread
This is where you can view and participate to the discussion thread.
You can edit your post or attach files in this page too (if you have permission).
Note that if you are a Moderator, you will see links to edit/delete post or delete the whole thread,
and if you are an Admin, you can view further information such as first post IP and last post IP.

Add new Thread or new Post
You will have many mvnCode tags to format your post, and the Post Preview button will help you ensure the final result
is what you expects.
In this screenshot, the post is previewed and it also shows off many mvnCode tags.

Add Attachments
You can attach as many attachments as you wish (if you have attachment permission and you do not exceed the attachment size
limit set by your Admin)
Note that Moderator can delete any attachments at any time.

Search Page
mvnForum use powerful Lucene search engine to make searching as easy and accurate as possible. You can combine
the search criteria with text, member id, forum/category. In RC2 there will be more search options.

Search Result
The result of your searching is shown in this screenshot. If there are many pages returned, you will be provided
a pagination to navigate the search result.

Member's Public Information Page
You can click on the member id/member name to see the detailed information of this member. This page also show the
online/offline status of the member.
|
|
My Profile
My Profile is central place that you can edit all of your information and options. Some of the functionalities
you can do include change information, change password, change avatar, manage your watch, etc.

|
Change Avatar
Avatar is a small picture that represents you and is shown near your name in View Thread and other pages. You can choose predefined avatar
or you can upload your own avatar. Unlike many other forums, mvnForum will automatically check if the avatar is
a valid image format (gif, jpeg, png) and shrink the size if is bigger than allowed size.

My Watch
My Watch is the central management that you can manage all your watches. A watch is a email subscription to a thread,
a forum, a category or it could be global watch. (If you subscribe a global watch, you will receive email update of all
changes in the discussion board)
You can stop (delete) your watch at any time later.
|

Add Watch
You can easily add four types of watch that suit your need. The watch types are thread watch, forum watch, category watch
and global watch.
|
|
Change Your Locale Option
mvnForum currently have been localized to 16 languages. You can change the locale easily in your profile and the new language
will be shown immediately.

Delete Thread (for Moderator only)
Moderator can delete any offended threads/posts/attachments at any time.

Admin Index page
This index page in the Admin Zone give you a lot of essential information about mvnForum, database, Servlet Container, etc.
It also gives you many handy links to administer your forum.

|
Test System
After you install mvnForum, you should check this page to make sure that all required libraries has been installed
properly.
|
|
User Management
Manage all your users in this page. You can pre-register user, enable/disable users and change their information.
|
|
Pre-register User
You can pre-register member here. It will help you reserve the username from being registered by other users.
|
|
Group Management
mvnForum's permission is based on group concept. A group could include many users and have different permissions.
This page let you easily manage your groups and their permissions.

|
Add Members to Group
You can add many users to a group at the same time.
|
|
Edit Group Permission
And you can change the permission of your groups easily.
|
|
Forum Management
mvnForum's powerful Forum Management let you administer many things with your forums/categories. You can also change the
order of your forums/categories intuitively.
|
|
Delete Forum
Forum Admin can delete any forums/categories, so be careful when you give your user the "Forum Admin" permission.
|
|
Send Mail
A handy tool that let you send email easily. It also helps you to test if the email is working properly or not.
