Re: jdo ?

Hi ebengtso,

Thanks you very much for your help offer but I found that the change will be big and affect other part of the forum so I plan some other task with higher priority. Btw, I think Hibernate is more mature than JDO, and the JDO 2 would take one or more year to finish (please correct me if I am wrong)

Re: jdo ?

In fact, I would prefer to have this forum with pure JDBC. It's much more flexible for it's proposal than any O/R mapper

You are right that Hibernate is a VERY mature product, but it seems that they will also implement the JDO API.

JDO 2 draft will be out in some weeks as told by the expert group.

Again, I prefer to have it all designed with JDBC, but if you choose JDO please count on me.

By the way, I need to implement a support / issue follow up to be integrated with threads or promote some threads to a support request or issue. Any tips for a newbie?

Regards,

Erik

Re: jdo ?

Just a note of interest:

JDO 2 has Gavin King (from Hibernate) participating.

Also, Hibernate does allow you to gain access to JDBC directly if you need that power.

Re: jdo ?

Yes, I agree that JDO or Hibernate could simplify some common tasks, but the migration is delayed due to the time resource constraint.
By the way, I need to implement a support / issue follow up to be integrated with threads or promote some threads to a support request or issue. Any tips for a newbie?
