Hi I am working on setting up mvnforum on WebSphere Application server 5.0 Below is version information. Java version 1.4.2_05 SunOS, version 5.9 and mvnforum 1.1GA MVNFORUM is part of existing context named wwtqs. I am using oracle 10 g and can see connction to database is working. Just to begin with I have removed the CompressionFilter from web.xml. I see lots of things in the forum HOW-TO mvnForum & IBM WebSphere Application Server 5.0 & SSO Do I need to set them up as I am fine without SSO? Also I have created a proper tree structure and configuration as per the installation instructions. I am able to deploy the application on Websphere and test it completely on tomcat 5.0. The only problem is websphere server crashes when trying to access mvnforum. The the last lines in server logs shown are 7/14/08 8:10:20:207 EDT] efeb87 WebGroup I SRVE0180I: [DashBoard WebApp] [/wwtqs] [Servlet.LOG]: /TechnicalMeasuresDashboard.jsp: init [7/14/08 8:10:38:863 EDT] d7ec6a WebGroup I SRVE0180I: [DashBoard WebApp] [/wwtqs] [Servlet.LOG]: /common/MeasuresDashboard.jsp: init [7/14/08 8:10:45:196 EDT] d7ec6a WebGroup I SRVE0180I: [DashBoard WebApp] [/wwtqs] [Servlet.LOG]: ForumUserServlet: init [7/14/08 8:10:45:380 EDT] d7ec6a InterceptorSe I net.myvietnam.mvncore.interceptor.InterceptorService Use PasswordInterceptor = net.myvietnam.mvncore.interceptor.sample.PasswordInterceptorImplSimple@15558ce [7/14/08 8:10:45:616 EDT] d7ec6a ForumUserServ I com.mvnforum.user.ForumUserServlet <<---- ForumUserServlet has been inited. Not sure if this is an explanation, but as far as I know WebSphere 5.0 runs with jdk 1.3 internally (see java subdirectory of WAS installation). The most recent versions of MvnForum require jdk 1.4. Maybe it works on Tomcat because it uses the 1.4 jdk from another location on you computer. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by kreker at Jul 15, 2008 5:58:52 PM] |

Hi , Apparently its Websphere 5.1 , so it has J2SE 1.4 and all the required servlet and JSP specification support. By the way why it works on tomcat almost out of box and for websphere one need SSO stuff?? shouldn't it login as guest on websphere as well? Think this may put me in right direction. P |

No, you dont have to config SSO for websphere, you just install mvnForum as any other web application. ---------------------------------------- Minh Nguyen mvnForum Developer Want a free, open source Java Jsp/Servlet forum, get mvnForum at http://www.mvnForum.com http://www.DienDanLinux.org |
