Tomcat crashes when I send email from forum
Hi...I'm running mvnForum on the following system:

mvnForum version : 1.2 GA (Build: 27 June 2008)

Tomcat Version : Apache Tomcat/5.5.23
JVM Version : 2.4
JVM Vendor : IBM Corporation
OS Name : Linux
OS Version : 2.6.9-34.0.1.EL
OS Architecture : x86

These are the mail settings i've set:

Receive Mail Options
enable_mail_source * false
mail_source_name
mail_server * localhost
username
password
port * 110

Send Mail Options
use_embeded_smtp_mail_server * true
enable_mail_source * false
mail_source_name
use_secure_connection * false
mail_server * localhost
username
password
port * 25

Whenever I send an email from the forum admin panel iot crashes my tomcat and no email is sent.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated

Please post the stacktrace error here and I will help you.

You could also disable embeded mail server and use external email account, you could use gmail account to send the email

Hi..thanks for the reply

I don't get any error...it just crashes tomcat.

I have tryed many different option...enabling and dissabling and different mail servers.

from localhost, IP and mail.domainname.com

same thing happens.

any ideas.

would you be able to log in and take a look?

it should do some log to the log file, the log is in tomcat/logs and tomcat/mvnforum/WEB-INF/mvnForumHome/log (please config the log4j.properties first).

Also please try to send email with gmail account

ok...still crashed...

I tryed gmail with these settings:

enable_mail_source * false
mail_source_name
use_secure_connection * false

port * 587

Is this correct

use_secure_connection * true

ps: if it crash, it should show some error in the log file, please post it here.
